Crail's Lane

Location: Crail's Lane, St Andrews, Scotland
Changes: quite complex here.

I played a bit with different colour filters trying to make a nice colour picture. I took that photo because it was a little bit misty in that lane and a sunray was visible. I did all the changes trying to enhance it but did not manage. Instead, I got a strange coloured shot which when it was put in B&W gave what you have now. I shall try again.

Policy

I am doing photography for a little while now. For long, I was keeping them for myself, but the wish to improve led me to share them, first by email with friends and family and now to a wider population with this blog.

All the photos here were taken with a Minolta Z20 or Lumix DMC-LX3 (unless otherwise stated) and I imposed myself only a few changes on the photo. Those changes consists mainly in altering - usually slightly - the colour balance, and the overall contrast. I am not altering in any way the composition: what can be seen is what I saw and what the camera captured.

Colours are subjective. For example when shooting through a coloured window, what would be reality? What the eyes saw, or what they would have seen without the window? Similarly the camera has its own perception of reality and its own colour and light response.

The patterns on the photos are real (and kept unchanged), the colours are more subjective.
